There are lots of different theories, I guess.
1) Since Obama’s father is Muslim, he’s considered a lapsed Muslim because he doesn’t identify as one himself. Maybe he’s trying to assuage his guilty conscience.
2) The Arabs have the oil, the political power, and demography. We have J Street. Why wouldn’t he side with them?
